The letters in the starred tiles (marked with red letters here) unscramble to spell out ZOMBIE

Patron Grant Fikes said that I was "Pretty ballsy putting two Z's in the center ring, forcing 12 Z's altogether :)"

Patron Pavel Curtis said "Nice job keeping both Z's all the way into the center!"

Patron Giovanni Pagano thought that it was "Kind of interesting how the two Z's alternate between being part of the same word and being part of two different words. Surprised I could know or deduce everything in the grid, including ZENON and MIGUEL."
