Boy, my first "Vanishing Act" puzzle from two weeks ago must've been really popular and/or easier than usual, as a whopping twenty people have successfully solved it since then, and they all made it onto the list below:
- Grant Fikes
- Cindy Heisler
- M. Sean Molley
- Giovanni Pagano
- Joe Bernard
- Pavel Curtis
- Dave C
- Tyler Hinman
- Kevin Orfield
- Patrick Jordan
- Karen Spencer
- Sam Levitin
- Meg Duvall
- Joe Sampson
- Wendy Walker
- Tamara Brenner
- Mom
- Charles Flaster
- Debbie Benford
- Peter Abide
Now head below the break for the answers as well as a couple solvers' comments!
2) SQUG → SQUEEGEE
3) NAATO → NARRATOR
4) CKBK → COOKBOOK
5) OLES → GOGGLES
6) STAION → STALLION
7) SZG → SYZYGY
8) ROANE → PROPANE
The added-in letters spell out IEROGLYP, and two letter "H"s should be added to that string of letters to form HIEROGLYPH
This puzzle contains the seed word SYZYGY, suggested by Patron M. Sean Molley
Solver Sam Levitin noticed that "Interestingly, the two missing letters [in HIEROGLYPH] are bookends." Also, "syzygy is one of my favorite words,😀"
Solver Tamara Brenner said "I didn't even see that there were clues 'til after I figured out the word. Almost BOBBLEd it - easier to see with GOGGLES after reading the clues. lol."
