It's been nearly two weeks since "Semicircle Sorting 5" was posted on this blog, and about fifteen people have correctly solved it since then, all of whom are listed below:
- Cindy Heisler
- Grant Fikes
- Joe Bernard
- Chris Kochmanski
- Kevin Orfield
- Mike Lebowitz
- Tyler Hinman
- Mike Armstrong
- Steve Gunter
- Tamara Brenner
- KeoFam
- Perry Groot
- Mom
- Wendy Walker
- Lynn Sweeney
Now head below the break for the answers as well as a solver's comment!
[The letters in each set of parentheses represent the letters in each semicircle]
(AYR) + (UNW) = RUNWAY
(EER) + (FEZ) = FREEZE
(EJO) + (RPTC) = PROJECT
(PCA) + (KECU) = CUPCAKE
(LYST) + (RICT) = STRICTLY
(TAMI) + (TLUE) = ULTIMATE
The two words that combine to form the name of a reality competition show spell out PROJECT RUNWAY
Solver Mike Armstrong saw one of the other possible combinations and said "Honestly, the ULTIMATE CUPCAKE would've been a crazy talent for a Danganronpa game" [I've mentioned the Danganronpa video games before in previous puzzles, and in that series, many of the main characters have a special talent that gives them the title of "Ultimate Something-or-Other". I assume the title of "Ultimate Cupcake" makes that person really great at baking and/or decorating cupcakes.]
