Now head below the break for the answers (as well as a solver's comment)!
1) NUTRIA/VIRTUE, 2) RELIANT/TRAILER, 3) LEARN/CRUEL, 4) NAMING/GERMAN, 5) JONAH/HANOI, 6) DEADENS (or DEAFENS)/SNEEZED, 7) BRUTUS/SUBURB
The changed letters on the pink arrows, when read backwards, spell out BEZIER CURVE
The clue for GERMAN contains the seed word COLOGNE, suggested by Patron M. Sean Molley
Originally, the clue for RELIANT was "_____ K (Christian rock band whose single "Be My Escape" went gold)". However, solver and Patron Marie desJardins said "I spotted a small error: I had to look up the Christian rock band, and their name is actually spelled "Relient K", not "Reliant K"... If only you had been a little less obscure with your cluing. 🤓" (in my kinda-sorta defense, even though it wasn't a Top 40 hit, that particular single did get a significant amount of secular airplay back then. I remember the music video for this song airing on MTV2 often, and it also did well enough to reach the top ten on MTV's Total Request Live, which I bet helped it get gold-certified)
