ANSWERS: Slot Machine

It's been two weeks since I've posted my first "Slot Machine" puzzle, and ten of you have solved it since then, including a couple who haven't solved any of my puzzles in a while! Turns out they forgot about this site, so I'll try to give them a weekly reminder until I finally set up that Patreon. (Apparently, that site can automatically email backers about when Creators update, so that's yet another incentive to sign up!) Anyways, here's that list of people who have all successfully solved it:
  • Mom **
  • Grant Fikes ****
  • Eric Maddy ****
  • Sam Levitin ****
  • YYW ****
  • M. Sean Molley ****
  • Tyler Hinman ****
  • Lynn Sweeney **
  • Adam Weaver ****
  • Giovanni Pagano ****
Now head below the break for the answers and some solver comments, if you're curious as to what they had to say.

The first letter of each Tumbler, circled above, spell out NINTENDO POWER

The first issue of Nintendo Power...

Solver Eric Maddy noticed a "Slight misclue -- an "inlet" is a body of water, but it isn't a "passage", which flows from one place to another."

Solver M. Sean Molley gave a small hint to his age when he said "My first home video game console was a Magnavox Oddysey, so yeah. ;)"

Solver Adam Weaver wondered "was the Nintendo Power answer inspired by its recent addition to archive.org?" [For the record, it kind of was, but that was before the magazine's subsequent removal from that site]

...and the last issue. Nice use of bookending, by the way.
